Tombstone Courage
Tombstone Courage | J. A. Jance
3 posts | 4 read | 1 to read
With grit, courage and dogged determination, Joanne challenged the status quo -- and won. Now, as newly elected Sheriff of Cochise County, Arizona, she must battle the prejudice and hostility of a mistrustful, male-dominated police force -- and solve a grisly double homicide that threatens to tear the sleepy desert community to pieces. For the two bodies baking in the harsh Southwestern sun are connected by sinister threads that reach back generations -- and by devastating family secrets of greed, hatred and shocking abuse that could destroy the innocent along with the guilty.

Bailedbailed

Janice does a great job capturing the setting of her books. As an actual resident of Tombstone I can't find fault there, but after a few previous reads I've given up. Bring in law enforcement, I just can't get behind her characters. I wanted to like this series, I really did, but I'll pass on the other titles. I just couldn't take another page of the over dramatized inaccurate portrayal of the current law system of Cochise County.

Pickpick

I'm rapidly becoming addicted to the Joanna Brady series. The plot moves quickly. There are twists and turns, and then more twists and turns. The nostalgia for books set right near my adolescence runs strong. Time to read the rest of the series. #24in48 #readathon
