An action-packed, edge-of-your-seat novel about a teen who, when backed into a corner, fights back, from the author of What Waits in the Woods Kaia has been on the run her whole life. The daughter of professional assassins, she knows danger-and she'll do anything to survive. After her parents vanished during a job gone bad, Kaia's spent the last year in hiding, trying to blend in as an ordinary teenager, and there's no one who makes her feel more normal, more special, than her boyfriend, Oliver. But when she's jumped by a hit man and Oliver catches her fighting back, Kaia's secret is exposed. In a split-second decision, she flees her small town, taking Oliver with her. With hit men stalking their every move, can Kaia and Oliver protect each other long enough to uncover the mysteries of her past?

If Mr. and Mrs. Smith had a daughter, Kaia [last name redacted] would kick. her. butt. ?? Kieran Scott's "fast-paced, Jason Bourne-esque story" is out on Tuesday!

Pickpick

If you enjoy action movies like Mission Impossible or Bourne than this might be a book for you! Do you have to suspend disbelief? Yes, absolutely but that doesn't make it any less fun. I enjoyed Kaia and Oliver, both their stories and perspectives and their cute and solid relationship. Look for this one in April!

"But if there was one life skill you didn't learn while globetrotting with assassin parents, it was how to make friends."

I didn't do so hot with the #24in48. When I had the time to read, I didn't necessarily have the brain power. I spent today's reading time with this action/suspense ARC and I'm loving it. I'm at about 80% but I'm done for the night. ? In the end, I think I read around 5 hours this weekend. And I loved reading everyone's posts!

OMG, I can't stop! Just bought The Trouble with Women because I was having a heck of a time getting it through the library then I went on Netgalley and downloaded Pretty Fierce and Coming Up for Air (Sourcefire auto-approval that I've sworn not to abuse.) I need to be stopped.

raelaschoenherr I spy Someone Like You! 7y
Alfoster We're probably going to need an LA chapter at some point (Litsy Anonymous) for those of us with this obsession!📚📚📚📚😂😂😂 7y
MarriedtoMrT @raelaschoenherr Yup! Another where I couldn't help myself. Now I'm waiting until I'm in the right mood. 7y

Alfoster @MarriedtoMrT Hi Casey! Me too! Guess we're the charter members!😂😂 7y
Chachic I just got Julie James' latest from NetGalley and requested Lucy Parker's next book. Fingers crossed! Now I have no idea what to read next because so many choices. 7y
raelaschoenherr @Chachic I just finished The Thing About Love today! Soooooo good! I posted a gushing review ☺ 7y
Chachic I have a feeling I'll enjoy reading it too. Her books have the best banter.😊 7y
MarriedtoMrT @raelaschoenherr @Chachic I haven't read any Julie James yet. I know I should, I love good banter more than just about anything, but I'm not big on romantic suspense anymore and all the FBI/lawyer plots keep turning me away. But I will add her to my to-read list for the year. Any suggestions for which one I should start with? 7y
raelaschoenherr @MarriedtoMrT @Chachic They honestly don't feel like romantic suspense! There's not a lot of chasing, shooting, murder, etc. It's really more like the behind-the-scenes office stuff, honestly. Or white color stuff. Some that have less of an FBI focus are 7y
raelaschoenherr *white collar. Auto-correct!! 7y
Chachic @MarriedtoMrT I don't think of her books as romantic suspense! They're more like romantic comedy for me. If you want to read her non-FBI books, you can try Practice Makes Perfect. But I think her first FBI book might be a good intro, 7y
raelaschoenherr @MarriedtoMrT @Chachic Practice Makes Perfect is the one I've re-read the most. I can't get enough of it, haha. Also, heads up that Suddenly One Summer is on ebook sale for $1.99 right now. That one has no FBI/crime whatsoever. 7y
