Mehso-so

Some parts are super interesting and some drag a bit. But overall very glad I read this. Very interesting book with very varied info: from geography to history of explorations to politics to ecology. Loveee that every chapter begins with a proverb from the countries the Nile goes through.

I told my husband about this quote from my book and he liked it so much he sent it to all his contacts and put it on his Instagram account 😂! Jokes aside, I must add that one of the things that I like the most about this book are all the proverbs and sayings from the countries where the Nile runs through. The author heads each chapter with one and they are super interesting!

Reading about the Nile by the water seems natural enough 💦

Couldn't take the picture at 3 am cause I was going to wake my husband up. But this is the kind of thing you want to be thinking of when you can't go back to sleep, not whether you should do some impossible New Year's resolutions or not. #litsyafterdark

"One should always begin at the beginning, and with a river that means the source. But where exactly is it? Despite, and maybe because of, a universal longing to 'find the source of the Nile', even now the exact location of the source is still disputed." #firstlines
