I've seen a few of you posting your #worstof21 & thought I'd join in! These all got 2 stars from me...

Most overrated: Normal People (this is my most controversial pick as I know lots of you loved it, but I really didn't rate it.)

Most forgettable: The Girl who wasn't there

Worst mystery: Essex Poison

Most preachy: Bad Pharma (decent message, but the smug tone enraged me)

Just a bit crap: DM for murder

Would ❤ to see yours! 👀

Branwen I wasn't a fan of Normal People either! 😝 2y
Laughterhp I didn‘t like Normal people either! 2y
The_Penniless_Author Maybe if the girl who wasn't there had been there you would have remembered her better 😉 (sorry, I'll show myself out now 😞). 2y
RaeLovesToRead @Branwen @Laughterhp I'm glad it's not just me! 🙂😊 2y

First of all.... BINGO!!!!! #bookspinbingo @TheAromaofBooks

This book was disappointing. The blurb would suggest a murder mystery, but what I got was a 1930s travelogue. Which would have been fine if I had been wanting a twee look into 1930s Britain, I suppose. The actually murder mystery probably occupied about 20 of the 280 pages and was pants.

🌟🌟 2 stars

TheAromaofBooks Yay bingo & at least this one is off the list!! 3y

"Oh hey, I see you're eating your tasty human food."

I'm halfway through Essex Poison and so far it's been more fictional 1930s travelogue than murder mystery. I'm not sure what, if any, of what I'm reading is relevant to the plot. If there even IS a plot. Hopefully some investigating will take place at some point; after all, I still have to finish it for a Bingo!!!

If I finish this one before the end of May I'll have a Bingo... #bookspinbingo
Not read this author before and hoping for a Whodunnit.

Mehso-so

I liked this - but mostly because it was set in a bunch of places I used to live. I continue to find the series itself a bit frustrating because it‘s neither solidly a mystery to solve not a character study about this quirky figure.
