“He‘s listened to Dylan. He‘s skimmed Kerouac. He knows that if you‘re a disaffected young American and you‘re looking to find yourself, then the place to look is somewhere between your current location and the other side of the country”

Beautiful night to read outside!!! Trying to get thru the backlog on my Netgalley account & finish some ARCs... do you have the problem of requesting/checking out more than you can possibly read? I'm trying to control it but there are so many books I want to read!!!

ErikasMindfulShelf Always 😍📖😍 7y
CoverToCoverGirl Exactly my problem too.. to many books and not enough time 😳😎 7y
Dolly I don't intentionally check out too many books. My problem is when ebooks on hold, that I so carefully planned to be spaced out, all become available at the same time. 7y
Ashley_Nicoletto Yessss. My library accounts are the worst. I'm always behind. 7y

I'm on a panel with Tom McAllister at the Gaithersburg Book Festival next month. Apparently both of our books are sad! Looking forward to diving in.

It's a delightful surprise, and probably an unmistakable sign from the universe, when you add something to your wishlist and then discover that same book already on your shelf. Never one to argue with clear signs, I'm starting this one immediately.

Pickpick

As suspected, I didn't make it through this without some tears. But McAllister's novel isn't exactly sad, despite the subject matter. It's wry and funny and heartfelt and sometimes a little trite but ultimately an incredibly real, moving story of a perfectly imperfect marriage that ends far too soon, and one young widower's scrambling, scrabbling attempt to find a future for himself without his wife. Full review to come in Shelf Awareness.

2017 goals: stay ahead of review deadlines, drink more water. Still going strong on day two. Also if I make it through this book without sobbing it will be a miracle.
