The Great Ghost Rescue
The Great Ghost Rescue | Eva Ibbotson
2 posts | 7 read | 3 to read
'Nobody knew what had gone wrong with Humphrey. Perhaps it was his ectoplasm . . .' Humphrey the Horrible sounds scary, but he's actually a very friendly skeleton, with twinkling eye sockets and jangling finger bones. Humphrey dreams of being ghastly, like his brother - a screaming skull - or terrifying, like his bloodsucking vampire-bat cousins. But when Humphrey discovers an evil plot to exorcise his family, he finally realizes you don't have to be spine-chillingly fearsome to be a hero. With beautiful cover illustration by Alex T. Smith, creator of the Claude series, The Great Ghost Rescue is a wonderfully spooky young-fiction title from the award-winning author of Journey to the River Sea, Eva Ibbotson. 'Eva Ibbotson weaves a magic like no other. Once enchanted, always enchanted' Michael Morpurgo

In honor of Halloween and #Scarathlon2020, let‘s get spooky! 👻

1. I love ghost stories! They can be so creepy and there are just so many!
2. I‘ve always been a fan of the Ghost of Christmas Present.
3. Tagged! The first haunted house novel I remember reading.

#sundayfunday Don‘t forget to tag me, and have a great and spooky day! 🎃

Pickpick

This is a kids book published in 1975. It was given to me by my son in law . I had asked people to give me a favourite all time book for my birthday and to write in it why it was a favourite . He wrote that this book helped him to understand about feeling like the odd one out. He was 11. There are messages for us all in this book. Sadly not a lot has changed since 1975. Very British in content. I had not heard of the author. @MrsMalaprop

tif What a great idea to ask for from people!! I am SO doing this. 6y
Jeg @tif It was a significant birthday and I saw the idea somewhere. I knew people might want to give me gifts and I don‘t really “ need” anything. This was perfect. I hope to have read them all by my next birthday. 😍📚 6y
