Time is running out for Rhine in the conclusion to the New York Times bestselling Chemical Garden Trilogy. With time ticking until the virus takes its toll, Rhine is desperate for answers. After enduring Vaughn’s worst, Rhine finds an unlikely ally in his brother, an eccentric inventor named Reed, and she takes refuge in his dilapidated house. However, the people she left behind refuse to stay in the past. While Gabriel haunts Rhine’s memories, Cecily is determined to be at Rhine’s side, even if Linden’s feelings are still caught between them. Meanwhile, Rowan’s growing involvement in an underground resistance compels Rhine to reach him before he does something that cannot be undone. But what she discovers along the way has alarming implications for her future—and on the past her parents never had the chance to explain. In this breathtaking conclusion to Lauren DeStefano’s Chemical Garden trilogy, everything Rhine knows to be true will be irrevocably shattered.

I think this series had a good ending. I enjoyed it. She is a good writer. I would say to give this series a chance.

This was a thrilling conclusion to the trilogy. I have had this book on my shelf for a while and am glad I finally read it. It was suspenseful and unexpected. This trilogy was hopeful yet heartbreaking. Lauren destefano is a master of dystopian society and I can't wait to read more books by this author.

LibrarianRyan I never got around to the rest of the series. I was intrigued by the world but overall let down by book 1 5y
mirsophie I was surprised i continued because i read the first two books 5y

If you make it through the second you will find that, the last book is pretty good. There are many plot twists you will not see coming. I do wish there was a more prolonged scientific explanation at the end and more detail. However, DeStefano wraps up the trilogy neatly.

My favorite part about this trilogy (Wither, Fever, Sever) is the new approach to the far-too-overdone YA love triangle.
