Excellent middle grade book about a girl who got polio in the late 1940s. This is nonfiction and written from the author‘s own POV. I read this because this was assigned summer reading for my 9 year old and I wanted to check it out. I was really impressed with how the author was able to share her experiences without frightening younger readers. Sad, but ultimately uplifting.
