The author of the book had quiet a life, obviously! The career, the trips, the people; few of us experience a life like she did.
BUT she is not a writer. Not even a little bit. She jumps from one thing to another, introduces new characters as if everyone knows who they are (and maybe New York readers know but not here on the other side of the Atlantic), etc.
All in all feels like a diary, and why would one read a diary of someone they do not know?

Mehso-so

It was exciting at first! I was reading it with an approach of "learning how it was back then", book had a tasteful amount of sarcasm which I also enjoy.
But as new stories kept on coming and coming started feeling like, when is it gonna end?

It is a sarcastic diary of a character that goes through a crazy amount of things in his life. Perhaps a chapter a week, like Simpsons, could have kept my interest all through the book.

Started first with 1984 by J. Orwell and that was not going very well but then was suggested this book, and this was digested at a different speed 😁. The concept is similar to one of Orwell's but this one felt a lot easier to relate to. We are basically a step or a step and a half away from this scenario.

Heard of a book/story in news and got curious what the fuss was all about.
Enjoyed the read, both artistic and philosophical. Simply written but with deep meaning (the depth depends on individual's knowledge).
Sad when in the end you realise you might be Boxer.

What a quick read!
Bought a book while at a children's party and several days later 'Bang'! Done (=
Not difficult to read or follow the story.
