Wish I could live in an Austen novel sometimes.

Such an engrossing book, and even better, the narrator does a very good job of giving each character their own speaking traits, etc. 😄

The Deeds of the Disturber | Elizabeth Peters

Finished this book with my morning coffee today. Had to go back and find this particular page because it was a moment of great writing 🙂.

And that aside, I can‘t wait to start on the next book in the series since the protagonist and her family will be returning to Egypt (although the London break was nice).

BookBelle84 I love Peabody! Such a great character. 7mo

“I mean that,” he insisted, throwing a brief and entirely unconvincing scowl at her. “I‘m here because it suits my purposes. Not for the sake of your war.”

“I said I understood,” Leia agreed, smiling privately to herself. The words were different; but the look on Karrde‘s face was almost identical.

(Knew there was a reason Karrde became my favorite throughout this trilogy 😄)

Crocodile on the Sandbank | Elizabeth Peters

“He was a tall man with shoulders like a bull‘s and a black beard cut square like those of the statues of ancient Assyrian kings. From a face tanned almost to the shade of an Egyptian, vivid blue eyes blazed at me. His voice, as I had good cause to know, was a deep, reverberating bass. The accents were those of a gentleman. The sentiments were not.” (After this description, I can only picture Richard Armitage as Radcliffe *_* haha.)

SheilaChew I love all these books!!! 10mo
