I read this book specifically because it's been banned. Sad and timely subject matter but I felt it was kind of... forced.

I really enjoyed this one. I disliked Ani at first, because she seemed so superficial and materialistic, but as the story unfolded it was easier to see how much of a disguise a lot of the things I didn't like about her were.

Another Victoria Holt. This one seemed a little more outlandish, but it was still fun to read, and check out that awesome cover!

I saw an article about Gothic romances after I finished re-reading Rebecca and Victoria Holt was mentioned, so I decided to check her out. Only read 2 of her books so far, but this one was my favorite! Kind of Jane Eyre-y but doesn't take itself as seriously. A fun read!

This book was so entertaining! The 80's, private school, a demon.... I could've read it all in one sitting if I didn't have children, or a job. Highly recommend this book!

This book captured me from the start. Sam's extremely dry humor, Oxford, the Brontes, and an inheritance mystery! I loved how Sam was basically on a scavenger hunt to find something that might not even exist. I loved the way her "relationship" with the Brontes was portrayed, her feelings about them. Protective, but she knows they are flawed. Clever story and a fun read!

I wasn't sure this story could ever be tied up as neatly as I wanted it to be, but I think the ending was mostly satisfying. Blue was really funny, and somewhat socially awkward, but relatable.

I listened to this as an audiobook, before I read it and didn't know there was all that... interactive and extra stuff. When I read it, I didn't care for it. Listening to it and not seeing all those details, pics, etc let me imagine it my way. That being said, this book was nuts! I loved it.

Very well written, I like the way she describes her feelings about things that happen to her, like "My head and shoulders melted first, followed by my hips and knees. Before long I was a puddle, soaking into the pretty cotton prints. I drenched the quilt she never finished, rusted the metal parts of her sewing machine." or when Cady described her dad leaving as him shooting her in the heart. Another twist!

I wasn't really sure what to expect with this book, but I love all things Victorian so I took a chance, and was not disappointed! I couldn't put it down! Another book with a surprising twist, and I did NOT see it coming!
