I really enjoyed this debut novel from Éric Desmarais about the city of Baker, a place full of mystery and magic. When people start going missing in droves, Elizabeth Coderre is determined to put the pieces of the puzzle together, even at her own risk. She's a strong protagonist and I love stories with intelligent young women. Great young adult fiction. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!

Losing Faith | Alexis James
Pickpick

Alexis James shows the struggle of a young person trying to navigate through the loss of her best friend so well. The protagonist, Grace, juggles work, her brother's shared grief, and how to process her desire for the sexy "bad boy", Ryan. Sizzling, sad, and hopeful, this book gave me all the feels.

As an Irish princess, I recommend this book. :)

I love the way Rutherford shows legend and history through the generations of these fictitious families. He draws you into the mysticism and charm of Ireland. His characters bring this vivid isle to life.

I loved this book so much, love doesn't seem good enough. I LERFED it!

Now, I must confess I'm not a vampirey-book type of person, but I was totally "enthralled" by this story. S.M. Carrière is such an amazing writer who paints a scene so well, and dazzles you with her characters.

Highly recommend!

The first time I saw my book in print was at Can*Con 2016 on Sep 9. It was at the Renaissance Press table with other cool books and games. I was so thrilled. :)

I remember reading this book years ago, when I was in a clinic worried that I might have breast cancer. I brought the book because I didn't know how long I'd be waiting. I started reading it and right away I was laughing so hard I nearly wept with laughter. I realized then the importance of humor in writing, and it's one of the major Inspirations for my book Life in the 'Cosm.

vkmartin I really need to get around to reading this. I bought a copy a while back but haven't been in the right mood to read it. 8y

I was lucky that my husband had a glossary for this book so I could really get into the slang. One of my fave dystopian stories.
