there were bits and pieces that were good, but overall I was bored and couldn't understand what was actually going on. I'm sure this is a wonderful read for some people out there, but not for me.

so far I have a love hate relationship with this book. it has its moments of genius and then moments where I would rather do anything but read it.

referencing the TV show based on your books IN your books is pretty lame, in my opinion, Ms. Reichs.

there were parts that were sooo good, but overall, I feel as if a lot of the temperance brennen books are the same story over and over again. but yet, written differently enough that I continue reading them.

and the whole Tempe and Andrew thing is still driving me nuts!

this was hands down one of the best books I have ever read. it made me feel the full spectrum of emotions. I felt like I connected with the characters and now that I am finished with the book I feel like I am putting a friend back on the shelf.

if this isn't already on your TBR list, it needs to be.

I wish I was at home curled up on the couch with this nerd reading. instead I'm at work trying to squeeze in as many chapters as I can between customers. 🤓

I actually really liked this book. the fact that it was a true crime story, but read like a fiction novel was a nice change from other true crime books I've read.

however, I just wish more time was spent on what happened IN THE fair and after rather than all the time it took just talking about ever detail of building the fair. otherwise it's a great book. :)
