I think it is important to talk about congresswomen and their pasts on how they came to be.

Sharice Davids was one of the first Native American women to be voted into congress and was the first LGBTQ congresswoman to represent Kansas.

“But Albert did not want to be like the other students. He wanted to discover the hidden mysteries in the world. “

I really enjoyed learning about Albert Einstein and his journey as a child. It helped me better understand how their minds work.

There once was a boy that was riding is bike down the road when he start to think about himself traveling on a beam of light. This boy was nonother than Albert Einstein.

This was a story about Vincent Van Goghs life.

I enjoyed doing a deep dive on Van Gogh and there are many art projects that you could incorporate in the classroom setting.

“Painters teach us to see“

This is a man who relishes life, a man who was an incredibly brave boy, a man who can teach us lasting lessons about tolerance, love, and forgiveness.

I thought that this was an inspiring story that dived in depth with what happened.

Jack Mandelbaum was ripped away from his family, love, and warmth and was held at a concentration camp for three years. He was strong, patient, and never lost sight about what was important.

“One time Shirley encouraged the women in a local group to stand up to the men and demand respect.“

I found this story to truly be inspirational and we need to talk about accomplishments like this in the classroom.

Shirley Chisholm was the first black woman to be elected into Congress. This story tells and talks about how she made an impact on those around her.

“I acted all the time .... I was a little copybook. I wrote people down on me“

This story helped further my knowledge about what Hedy Lamrr achieved during her lifetime.

Hedy was a glamourous movie star and while she did this, she had a double life. She had another life. By night, she was a wonderful inventor and for many years, only close friends knew about what was going on.

This story truly touched my heart and was very eyeopening as well.

“Sister. Daughter. Immigrant. Dreamer.“

Areli was a baby when she moved from Mexico to New York with her family to live better lives. She is known as a dreamer and this story tells the true side of the hardships and challenges that she faced growing up.

This catered to a variety of student's interests and hobbies and kept the students engaged.

“Cut it carefully for goodness' sake...“

I loved how the illustrator used a simplistic approach towards the illustrations. They carried out much meaning and displayed what is going on in the story as well.

I really enjoyed the colors and meaning behind these.

This book contained detailed and descriptive poems that increased the student's knowledge and allowed them to immerse in the story.

“The misty day“

This book had words that talked about how umbrellas can move around and they did this by using a picture.

This book helped better describe natural weather occurants in a manner that was fun and engaging for the reader.

“My horse is floating in the air.

These poems got my imagination going and made me think about how creative you can get with poems.

This book was filled with funny stories that are bound to make students laugh. They are easy to read and are very detailed as well..

“ Love makes the most delicious fruit salad.“

I thought that this book is great for second grade and above as it expresses and allows for imagination to be used and admired.

The recipe for love filled the reader with joy, excitement and celebration and allowed the reader to think about their own lives. The illustrations are bright and lively to keep the readers attention.

“Silly palm,
Plain and skinny,
doesn't have one single branch.“

It gave me a sense of warmth and happiness as I read each poem. Each one of them brought on topics that relate to the reader which makes them more interested.

This poem book immersed the reader into each poem as it used both descriptive and visuals to keep the reader engaged.

“How could I not strive to make something of myself?“

I thought that this was a great way to incorporate social studies and allow the students to think about their own history and past

What My Kinfolk Made, talked about how each family member made their mark on society and what legacies that they left.

“Their lost voices must continue to be heard.” ..

I think that this book is a very well fit for fourth and fifth grade and had ways to keep the reader engaged.

This book went in depth with the perspective of both a boy's journey as a nazi commander's son and a boy that was a Jewish prisoner. It was a very well detailed book that listed their perspectives and made the reader consider both.

This book was in depth and very detailed. The pictures were realistic and very well put.

These poems are very deep and hold a very important meaning. I think that this book would be very nice for older grades such as fourth and fifth grade.

This was a very detailed and I loved how the author described a thunderstorm and got my imagination going.

This book of poems is very descriptive and gives the reader time to think about and imagine what is going on in each poem.
