The Summer Sail: A Novel | Wendy Francis

I really enjoyed reading this book. Three women (who are long-standing friends) and their families take a cruise in celebration of a 20th wedding anniversary. Of course there are many adventures that occur on the journey and no one is unchanged by the end of the trip. I recommend this book and plan to explore other works of the author.

Just finished this book and really liked it! Although I got a bit exasperated at times by the two "main" characters, the story was excellent and issues were resolved. Check it out!!

I started to read this a few months ago, couldn't get into it and stopped. Just found out this is my book club's September pick. So I started over. I finished last night and here are my thoughts:
➡️ I didn't much care for it. The title is perfect for the story. I will never again continue reading a book that makes me feel dread when I pick it up. I'm going to try to be open minded at my Book Club and listen more than I talk.

I just finished this and really did enjoy it! It dealt with some interesting and serious topics...infidelity, suicide, child trafficking, but never felt preachy or bogged down. This is my first read by this author and I'll definitely look for more!

By Invitation Only: A Novel | Dorothea Benton Frank
Pickpick

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, which is my first read by Ms. Frank. I really enjoy books set in the SC Low Country and this had an additional favorite setting, Chicago. The back and forth betwixt family members as a couple prepares to get married was very entertaining, with a few twists and turns along the way. Read it!

The Great Alone | Kristin Hannah

This was my first Kristin Hannah and I've heard comments about it and seen mixed reviews. I actually liked it, though it was certainly intense and made me anxious about what was coming next. I felt that the ending seemed rushed and was too quickly resolved. That being said, I would definitely read more from the author.
