Seamlessly weaving between 1943 and 2003, the tangled, complicated, and heart-breaking Tonquin family history comes to life in all the brokenness, sorrow, grief, hope, and grace. Be prepared with a box of tissues - this book will make you cry tears for injustice, suffering, and heartbreak but will also bring tears of joy and wonder.

I do so love second chance romance and Esmee and Henri have it down perfectly in 1755 Virginia. Laura Frantz has a beautifully lyrical way of writing that transports the reader to the heart of York, Virginia. The story is infused with such rich history ranging from building a lighthouse operated by a woman to delicious details involved in chocolate making during the colonial times.

Ah, Rem. What an incredible adventure it‘s been. It‘s an unforgettable journey of spiritual discovery, costly forgiveness, learning to let go of control and fears and haunting regrets, and finding the courage to trust. I loved that I was never sure of what would happen to Rem this last go around time travel. If you had to pick one book series in 2021 to read, this is it.
