If you love movies and books about movies, as I do, you will enjoy this one volume history of Hollywood. It is insightful, illuminating and entertaining.

The best thing of all is it really helps one to not give a f#ck about the things that really don't matter and concentrate instead on the things that do. Oh, and it's funny too.

I was game to try this book. I made it to Chapter 2 which begins with the author's vivid description of eating an earthworm. Too graphic for me and I'm sure more of that was to come as the author had committed to living (becoming) a badger, otter, fox, deer and swift. As the back cover blurb states the book "is a strange kind of masterpiece". I would agree on both counts.

Who knew all this kinky sexy stuff was going on under the sea? Fascinating, charming, amusing and surprising (who knew barnacles are the Ron Jeremy's of the sea world).? Ultimately poignant because all of these wonderful creatures are being effected negatively by global warming. I think it opens your eyes to the wonders of our world.
