Currently reading!

An audacious protagonist and full of dark humour. This book was gifted to me by my friend. I‘m finding it really refreshing!

A deeply moving story of endurance. I couldn‘t put it down. An uncomfortable and heart-breaking read that is a reminder of how strong love can be.
I read this as a love story. A love between separated childhood sweethearts; a love between two unlikely friends; and the love of a homeland. A Thousand Splendid Suns is powerful prose.

Perfect afternoon read in a local coffee shop! I have made the most of the Christmas holiday walking the dog and finding new reading spots!

I love Ahern‘s books but normally associate them with romance! This one (so far) is quite dystopian! I feel like it may follow a similar style to The Hunger Games in terms of rebelling against authority!

I love Claire Douglas‘ works.
This was fast-paced and intense. I couldn‘t put it down. Really enjoyed it.

Great concept but too many unfulfilled plot lines.
This story really toyed with the idea of accountability and the pressures of social media.

Thought-provoking but I was disappointed/ bored at times.

A heart-warming story of human resilience and tragedy. Beautifully written narrative. I found the structure difficult to follow as was disjointed. This was frustrating at times and I lost track of the plot.

The exploration of the relationship between husband and wife was very tenderly written, despite the obvious emotional distance between them.

This story made me appreciate life and not to take it for granted.

A moving tale of a woman‘s love and loss. Spanning from 1886 to 1989, this novel weaves together a fictional life story with the creation of the Oxford English Dictionary. Powerful and thought-provoking, it highlights the impact of language through lived experience.
