Incredible exploration of addiction and recovery

Sharp and horrifying while also incredibly humane and funny. I loved the original series on the Toast but this takes the concept of twisted fairy tales to a new and fascinating place.

One of the most wrenching books I've read this year. Lidia Yuknavitch is a new favorite.

Found this gem in my local used bookstore and really enjoying it so far. Steinbeck definitely did his research on Mexican history and culture, and the political themes resonate across the border with this gringa in the US

If you're looking for the right book to read in this new age of protest, I highly recommend Sunil Yapa's YOUR HEART IS A MUSCLE THE SIZE OF A FIST. It captures the beautiful, flawed people who try to take on injustice and the chaotic connective energy of a protest in a way that lets you feel what it's like to be in the middle of the action. Plus the author writes lovely notes when he signs your book!

#MLKDay reads. Incredibly imagined story, even more so when you realize it's Gyasi's debut!
