So, so good. Loved it muchly. Listened to the audiobook which was mostly well done, except the woman narrator's voice she affected for the male characters was a bit off and distracting. Still made me teary and feel all the feels.

Good grief, this one really, REALLY tested my patience. Despite the heroine's rough childhood she was somehow hard to find empathy for. Maybe it's psychologically accurate, but her constant need to push away the people who loved her drove me crazy. She suffered a lot FOR NO REASON--there were any number of people who would've been there for her, but no, she puts herself (and a newborn baby!) in jeopardy because she has 'trust issues'. Sigh.

Reminded me of Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine, though I didn't fall in love with the protagonist quite as much as I did w/Eleanor. Still, really eloquently realized characters with all their flaws and human kindness. Did the audiobook version and thought the narrator was perfect. Four stars.

Interesting enough to keep me entertained for the duration of a 5hr flight. Characters were well-drawn and engaging. I saw the 'twist' coming from MILES away, but since every book since GONE GIRL has to have some sort of twist I've come to anticipate them. Good enough that I'll probably give some of her other titles a try.

KateFulfordAuthor @Liliegreen perhaps you could consider my debut? Reviews are saying: “I loved this book more than I initially thought I would. Fulford infuses her characters with intense personalities that are prone to clashing with those of others. I loved Eve from the very beginning..." It‘s been nominated for The People's Book Prize 2018 too!
