I‘ve been wanting to read Lisa Jewell for years but this turned out to be my first from her! One of the best thrillers I‘ve read in awhile! It draws you in by weaving past and present narratives with twists along the way. Half of ya through you think ‘oh I see what‘s going to happen‘ but in the end… ‘oh maybe I don‘t…‘ 4/5 ⭐️‘s from me!

A Sunday night read and snuggle ❤️🐾

This book seems to get a lot of hate. One of the first reviews I read said ‘take this concept and give it to anyone other than Sarah Penner‘ I disagree. I thought it was okay. I wasn‘t rushing home to read it but it was interesting and a really great story idea. I wouldn‘t gush over it but I would recommend it. Does that make sense?

This one is best read in a spooky mood and with a fun open mind. If you like a little witchy mystery and heavy petting, you‘ll adore this book. Was it a little silly? Of course, but was it a lot of fun? Absolutely. I‘ve heard it may have a second book around characters already introduced and I can‘t wait.

Am I the only one who hated this book? Even as a Mother… I hated almost everything about it. The way the narrator described her body or breastfeeding even was never relatable, just awkward and cringey. Reading the narrator walk into so many ‘why are you doing this?!‘ situations was also brutal. I finished it… but I didn‘t want to. Maybe I just didn‘t get it.

What an amazing book. I loved the Martian and it was as no surprise at all that Andy Weir brought all the feels. I don‘t even feel like I need to say more. If you‘ve read it, you know. If you haven‘t, you need to.

I wanted to like this book a lot more than I did. TJR has been so hyped on other book apps and because of that I expected to like it more. Malibu Rising toggles between the past relationship of two parents and how it effects their kids lives in the present. One thing the author does amazingly is depict the excitement, anticipation, betrayal, and disappointment of relationships. Unfortunately, try as she might, I just couldn‘t emotionally invest.

This book has a lot of technical details and though that would have thrilled others, it was lost on me. It made it unique in comparison to other books I‘ve read but bulked the book out quite a bit. I personally found it lacking in some character development which made certain events have less impact than I would have liked. All in all, an interesting read but longer than it had to be.
