A fascinating second glance at chaos and randomness, why 'adversity' might not be so darn bad, and an alternative way to perceive the systems that operate all around us.

Awaken the Giant Within | Anthony Robbins

A bit long, I don't love every bit. But I learned some powerful concepts for change and leading a fulfilling life from this book. It is worth a read, even if it takes a while. He presents the concept of creating emotional leverage to make change, it has served me countless times now.

Embrace the process, enjoy "how it feels to be alive." Appreciate the going there and not just the getting there. This is an excellent book that has knowledge applicable to any field or endeavor in to growth.

I have done a lot of reading on happiness. This is the best synthesis of the contrasting view points of whether happiness is internal or external that I've read. It is the marriage of both that produces a supremely happy existence. Great read, lots of quotes you'll love!

This is my go to book when I am enduring difficult things in life. Lickerman does an excellent job marrying ancient wisdom with modern science. He comes up with some great takeaways for dealing with the challenges of life.

Attached gave me so much clarity, with an avoidant attachment style I didn't understand why I often felt how I did in relationships. It's easier to communicate my feelings now and avoid ruining a good thing because of a lack of self-understanding.

I become so absorbed every time I read this book. It feels like living and watching, not reading.

This book is not the end, but it was a great start to understanding presence and living in the now.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It may have been a bit longer than it needed to be however it was compelling enough to carry me through. I so appreciated how Dan described mindfulness from a skeptical place, it makes his experience resonate with me without as much reservation.

The level of transparency Neil wrote with in this book is flooring. Brace yourself for the grit, prepare to be challenged, disturbed, and brought to face yourself in the mirror of one mans quest for love through all its manifestations. You'll recognize yourself, you may not love what you see.

Moby Dick | Herman Melville
Pickpick

My God I love this book. I think a lot of people are worn down by it for a rather simple reason: Moby Dick is not a race to be run and won in the quickest possible time. Moby Dick is a delicious steak to be savored, enjoy the nuances of literary flavor and little trails off the main highway.

This is a great book for anyone interested in enlightenment, transcendence, or just simply a more healthy way of relating to our feelings. David Hawkins presents a beautiful method, so simplistic we over look it. Letting go, this book has major influence on how I deal with my emotions.

Man's Search for Meaning | Viktor Emil Frankl, Harold S. Kushner, William J. Winslade
Pickpick

This book confronted me with a powerful change in perspective that has altered the way I live life, the way I endure and overcome. It is not ours to ask what is the meaning of life, it is life who asks us for meaning, and it is our responsibility to answer life with its meaning in every right act.

On Death and Dying | Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
Pickpick

I don't get emotional much at all. So with that in mind, this book made me cry.
The dialogues between Elisabeth and her patients were so beautiful, illuminating accounts of real people as the faced the reality we all must, their own death.
The admonishments to love and care were powerful. Read it!
