Elevator Pitch | Linwood Barclay
Bailedbailed

The first chapter was interesting but then the book got slow and boring. Made it 61 pages in before bailing. Just not for me.

I bailed on this too. Just don't like how it's written or how the story is playing out.

Bailedbailed

Got 80 pages in and I'm bored. Going to bail. I was hoping to love this but it looks like true crime definitely isn't for me.

RachelAmphlett I struggle with true crime as well - I think it‘s because I tend to read so much for research that when it comes to relaxing, I need crime fiction! 2w
JeansBookshelf @RachelAmphlett I didn't like that there was no or very little dialogue between the people in the book. I get really bored if there isn't. 2w

The Chestnut Man: A Novel | Soren Sveistrup
Bailedbailed

Okay, I read 99 pages. I usually give a book 50-100 pages before I bail and I had to make myself do that with this one too. It's slow and also slightly confusing. Definitely not for me.

An update for those wondering 😂

My aunt & I were given a ton of books on August 10th. We've gone through some of them & decided to keep some. (The ones I was excited to get were a first edition box set of the Percy Jackson books & A Discovery of Witches) She's left me in charge of getting rid of the ones we don't want. Who knew getting rid of books could be so crazy 😂 I've sold a lot of the books & traded a lot on the PaperbackSwap website.

wanderinglynn Now that‘s a book haul! 😂 How fun! I love sorting and going through books. 2mo
JeansBookshelf @wanderinglynn It definitely is a haul 😂 I love sorting them too. Just going through these has introduced me to a few new authors I will read. 2mo

I was really hoping this was going to be better. I'd heard so much about how it was creepy and exciting. It wasn't creepy for me and it didn't get exciting until the last 20% of the book. On the plus side, I wasn't able to guess who the bad guy was.
