I was honored to receive an advance copy of Come & Eat. This is a book that you will find yourself underlining sentences and paragraphs, dog-earring pages, and wanting to pass along to your friends. While this book is certainly about gathering around the table and sharing in both food and fellowship, it is also a call to be challenged to create community and a table among not just those who are like us, but with those who are different.

If you are looking for a devotional for a teen, college-age, or 20 something woman, this is it! This 100 page devotional is not just beautiful on the outside, but the words are beautifully written as well. Sophie Hudson is a wonderful author who seamlessly blends together humor and meaning in her writings. She is down to earth, in touch with young women, passionate about her faith, and hilarious. Pair it with your favorite pen for the perfect gift!

This book is like a breath of fresh air. While I want to just plow through it and read all day because it is so good, I am making myself read it slowly and soak it up.

If I'm going to read a book about a family that makes bourbon then I should be proper Kentucky girl and make myself a bourbon cocktail. #bloodrunsblue #woodfordreserve #alwaysakentuckygirl

I loved this book. Keep in mind, it is written in the style of them talking to someone, not them necessarily writing. I was a bit concerned that after reading this it would make me want to redo my house and have everything looking perfect; however, it didn't. It taught me enjoy the journey, the mess, the good and the bad.

Loving this book! Already thought Chip and Jo were adorable, but this book is just confirming that they are good people.

Fabulous book!! This was the first Shauna Neiquist book I have read and won't be my last. I love hosting friends and family and gathering around the table to break bread and I enjoyed the author's stories about times she has done the same. The recipes are such a wonderful bonus and complement to the stories.

"The heart of hospitality is creating space for these moments, protecting that fragile bubble of vulnerability and truth and love. It's all too rare that we tell the people we love exactly why we love them-what they bring to our lives, why our lives are richer because they're in it." "Focus on making people comfortable, on creating a space protected from the rush and chaos of daily life, a space full of laughter and safety and soul."

It's not, actually, strictly, about food for me. It's about what happens when we come together, slow down, open our homes, look into one another's faces, listen to one another's stories.

The Lowcountry series has been a great choice for weekends at the lake. I've loved all the books I've read so far...currently enjoying book 3 and looking forward to book 4.

This book really resonated with me. I can relate to this author who loves time with her people, but also loves her time alone. She has one child, like me and I loved her thoughts about having an only child. Great book for all mothers!

MeganMarieWrites I see that you've also just read Sophie Hudson's Giddy Up Eunice...you would love Melanie Shankle's Nobody's Cuter Than You; it's all about the importance of female friendship...it's an awesome read! 8y
Pelican71 I agree 100%. Highlighted so many passages. Bugging my friends to read it. I'm going to give away a copy at Bunco. 8y
Duffer @MeganMarieWrites - I have read all of Melanie Shankle's books and yes, I loved Nobody's Cuter Than You! 8y

Fabulous book with a message all women need to hear and can relate to...how much we need each other! I loved Sophie Hudson's first two books and while this one is different, it did not disappoint. Thankful for this book and those women who are "my people".

MeganMarieWrites I think this one should be required reading for all women in the church, from nineteen to a hundred and nine...we need each other! 8y
Duffer @MeganMarieWrites - I totally agree!! I was lucky to get picked for the launch team for this book and just loved it and the community it created among the other "launchers". I have given away several copies because it is just so wonderful!!! 8y
