More Than This | Patrick Ness
Mehso-so

More Than This by Patrick Ness: 3.5/5⭐️. Okay to begin with it was not exactly bad. It had so many OMG moments. . But also, the ending, to me, was disappointing. Like the plot was intense intense intense and then it just falls flat. Like.why. So, if you're into some kind of horror sci-fi + existential philosophy, this book might be a 4 or a 5 for you. My soul felt drenched reading this, I became emotional and stuff lol. It really messed me up smh.

Pickpick

4/5 💫 This IS a brave novel, having addressed the Armenian Genocide, religion, individual difference, sex, rape, conflicting interest in upholding cultures you wish you were not a part of or were a part of but you're heavily embracing and that tug of war between knowing the past and living without knowing (and wondering which would be better). This is the second best Elif Shafak novel I've read. I loved it more than The 40 Rules of Love.

30/357. I forgot how heavy (in a good way) Elif Shafak's writings are. I'm taking my time adjusting to this book but I think I'll love it; we'll see.

I read this in 24hours. The reason I gave it a so-so is because I don't think this book is for everyone despite the hype of the anticipation. It's an easy read, but in my opinion it did got denser as it got to the end. I did not exactly have concrete expectations on the book except that I wanted it to be literary fiction. But it ain't exactly that. Anyhow it was a good read, simple, a little dark, but hits.

I loved this book so much. It's only my second Sci-fi but I think definitely won't be my last! I loved that it had sci-fi but also conflict & reality all cramped in. Would I read this again someday? Yes. Yes I would.
