AMAZING, STUNNINGLY WRITTEN, MYSTERY!!! This novel just proves why Agatha Christie is the queen of mystery! The execution of this novel was exquisite - keeps you captivated and guessing at every turn. You're constantly trying to piece together the "whodunnit" aspect of the novel and are stunned when you're incorrect. Christie also incorporates the nursery rhyme perfectly in my opinion. If you have not read this book simply DO IT!!!

Jane Steele | Lyndsay Faye

FINALLY starting in on my borrowathon reading despite being in the middle of 2 other books currently! I'm excited to see if Jane Steele is as great as I've been told! This book will fit 4 challenges. I knew I wasn't going to have as much time to read this week so I created a TBR that I feel is more manageable with attempting to fill all challenges. Excited to see how I end up doing! Not quite nervous yet despite already being behind in my plan. 😝

STUNNING STUNNING STUNNING BOOK! Hands down a favorite reads of all time! A heart-wrenching, relevant, raw, awe inspiring and moving in more ways than one. Angie Thomas captured and conveyed injustices so present today in a hard hitting story. Recommended to EVERYONE!

Mehso-so

I listened to this as an Audiobook and while I enjoyed the 2 narrators and felt they did an excellent job I feel like the story fell a little flat for me at various points.

The premise of the book is a fantastic one but what I was left wanting at the end was more of a moral or lesson learned than what was provided. A story that is centered around suicide I felt should have a more concrete lesson left with the reader which I felt was lacking.

MyBelovedLittleBooks I agree about it falling a bit flat. Towards the end I was a bit bored. 7y
Coffeereadswithmimi I'm glad I'm not the only one! I really wanted to love this book but I unfortunately didn't. 7y

Loved this book! So much so that I went out and got The Madness Underneath simply because I couldn't wait to continue this read. Rory was such a great main character who was also relatable in so many ways. Eerie with some good twists and ultimately a fantastic plot. Fast paced read that leaves you wanting more! Highly recommend!

Great read that sheds light on what it may be like to be deaf. I enjoyed that I was able, to an extent, put myself in Cece's shoes & how the story showed the progression of Cece coping with hearing loss/aid, struggles w/acceptance & relating to others. It shows that those who're deaf aren't different when it comes to wanting to be understood, accepted, and don't want to be treated differently just b/c they don't hear in the traditional sense.

I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS BOOK! I couldn't put it down!!! The events that took place were horrific & there were plenty of points where I was laughing and crying for the characters! Robin Roe did an exquisite job writing about a topic that makes your stomach turn equally as well as the moments that make life amazing! A phenomenal story of love, trials and tribulations, hope and human connection! A touching and beautiful story everyone needs to read!

Sharp Objects: A Novel | Gillian Flynn

Ended up LOVING this book! The last 20-30 pages I couldn't put the book down and just couldn't wait to see what happened next. I do wish that the wrap up didn't feel quite as rushed as it did but for this being Gillian's debut novel it completely did not disappoint. I do still feel like Gone Girl is my favorite Flynn novel, I can say that she's one of my favorite authors and I love her writing style!

70 pages in and loving it so far! Gillian Flynn has such a talent for developing characters so well! Her stories have such a darkness to them yet you can always see an underlying flickering light. Can't wait to finish this read

The book I felt was slow to start but once it really got going it sucks you in completely! Totally worth the read! The world and character building partnered with the fantastic writing makes this story captivating until the last page. The cliffhanger at the end of the book also leaves you wanting to immediately begin book 2. If you love the 20's or paranormal you'll really enjoy this book!

Between Shades of Gray | Ruta Sepetys

Beautifully written/heart wrenching novel set in WWII. Ruta has a talent for bringing to life the tragedy that is not as commonly known. A story of love, survival, trust, hope, and ultimately the goodness of mankind even when it seems too far fetched. It is worth the read not only to broaden awareness of other atrocities that occurred during World War II but to simply help one to see life differently and learn to appreciate the life we live today.

I'm about 1/4 of the way through and the book has managed to keep me captivated enough to continue reading. I do feel like it is somewhat slow moving with the story line since most of what I've read has been character building. I also feel like some of the character building has left me confused as I'm not sure how it is prevalent to the rest of the story. Interested to see how quickly it picks up and how successfully the books ties together.
