The Christian Watt Papers | Christian Watt

Pickpick

The Christian Watt papers is a book partially narrated by Christian Watt herself, a working mother who lived in 19th century scotland but ends up working in London and New York. She speaks to the reader with a modern tongue and if you like 19th century fiction this will be right up your street and there is an incomplete glossary and a map of the north east of Scotland but it helps if you know the area and the dialect

This was a light enough read ( though there is some harrowing stuff in this book - especially near the start) if there is one group of readers who should read this then it's men. This is a genuine modern classic that everyone's book shelf needs
