Okay, so I actually listened to the audiobook. No offense to the narrator but it took me about three chapters in to tolerate his voices. As far as the storyline itself, I was pleasantly surprised to like it as much as I did. Not quite sure what I was expecting but I did have low expectations. It left me wanting more and anticipating what was going to happen next. This was my first read by this author and won‘t be the last.

Third book into this series and thus far my favorite. It‘s Easter time in Three Pines but what great timing for me to enter October with this one! A haunted house was a nice touch and cannot get enough of Gamache. I also like that the characters continue to be familiar. Seems like every read will be even better than the last. Time to start the fourth!

This was quiet a story. I really enjoyed the setting in Three Pines and look forward to getting to know the quirky residents. I already have a soft spot for Chief Inspector Gamache. I hope to see more of the relationship he has with his wife. I have just become a mystery lover! Highly recommend. I‘m on to the second in the series.

Blaire This series keeps getting better and the relationships deeper. You won‘t be disappointed. 4y
AmandaMCruz Thank you! I couldn‘t wait and already started the second one, A Fatal Grace. Definitely hooked! 4y

This was my first book to read by this author. Well written and full of hope. I did cry reading the epilogue. Heartbreak, trauma, loss, forgiveness, family, and love all in 497 pages.

Finally watched the movie and I thought it was adorable so decided to check out the book. It was sweet and lighthearted. Many moments of making me laugh out loud. Worth the read. Picked up the second one.
