Grant Morrison‘s take on super hero comic history is a nice treat for a fan. Might be a bit more out there if you aren‘t familiar with his work. I feel he wanted to share is comic world view after winning a lifetime achievement award. I enjoyed the snips from his life and having the insider take on the ‘events‘ he was a part of us interesting. He is a huge part of my comic mythology. Magic is out there as all time happens simultaneously...

Pulp | Ed Brubaker

Another excellent novella from Brubaker and Phillips.
The western and the nazi pulp brought together.
So good.
I really enjoyed this one and look forward to a film version of it in 10 years.

This is the second TKO book I've read and it is solid. Another quick story. It jumps right in and keeps a good pace throughout. The art seems to suit the story perfectly. Gabriel Walta really does show a lot of emotion in the children throughout. I've never read a story about an AI taking on this maternal figure, but it worked very well. It could have been a much more drawn out and lengthy story, but serves well as a novella.

The Sculptor | Scott McCloud

Scott McCloud is great with fiction or non.
I honestly was not expecting the melancholy, but I loved it.
I took this one a chapter at a time and enjoyed taking it slow. The art was very precise but still conveyed strong emotion. The dialogue was concise but still felt realistic.
I always enjoy artist‘s telling stories about artists and McCloud‘s surprised me with his take.
A beautiful piece for a casual reader or a graphic novel scholar.

This was a great quick WW2 story.
I don‘t know much about women in war or the role of Russia in WW2. Can‘t say I know much more, but enjoyed the perspective.
Beautiful art, paneling and dialogue.
Really no faults to this work, just quick.
Made me want to@have a longer story, but I understand it is suited for a short.
Garth Ennis is solid and does a great job with historical fiction.
Beautiful and worth a glance, just so-so for@my personal tastes.

It was a long read for me, which I appreciated.
I could read a chapter, set it down and think of it a while. Almost a therapy of a read.
Made me meditate on motherhood from the perspective of a child who has not experienced it.
I appreciate autobio comics, but they really can be very different in style.
This one is more about the author‘s journey through her psyche than actions.
I look forward to her next book.
