🙋‍♀️ Anyone else? #uncomfortabletruths

LauraJ Unfortunately, yes. 5y

cathysaid @LauraJ @Hooked_on_books It‘s not that I don‘t experience such bonds, but they are quite rare. I‘m more of an “on-the-outside-looking-in” person, a bit removed. But in my late forties, I‘m quite okay with this. Certainly doesn‘t mean I don‘t care, but that I don‘t over-extend...if that makes sense. 🤷‍♀️ 5y
Hooked_on_books Makes total sense. I‘m mid-40s and at peace with who I am, but when I was younger (teens and twenties), I felt left out a lot. You also have to wonder what people who seem to have those bonds see when they look at us. Maybe some other kind of envy? Who knows. 5y
Trashcanman @Hooked_on_books Disjointed, disconnected, view from a far and speak at an arms length away. My other hand has a cocktail. 5y

Because we need to know what is being done in our name. #UncomfortableTruths

[DELETED] 3323341091 such an interesting and disturbing read. 8y
becausetrains Didn't think much about drones at first, since there have been unmanned spy planes since the 60s or earlier. When I heard that some were being tested with missiles, in the late 90s, I thought it was a dumb idea and doomed to failure. Now, I'm worried about the implications of striking anyone we (America) deem enemies, anywhere. (And people think America doesn't still have a global/imperial military.) 8y

Reading this book feels like losing a boxing match. I am being pummeled by heartbreaking everyday realities.
