Rating: 🍷🍷🍷/5 Cheers! Loved this book cover, the book not so much. When I reached the end I thought what did I just read? What was the point or purpose? I was disappointed because I love Ann Patchett's beautiful writing but this story just never gained momentum. Started off intriguing and flatlined. At times it was difficult to keep up with all the characters. I just never connected with the story. #spinesvines #read_withme

Jacqueline Woodson's writing is beautiful & eloquent. Another Brooklyn pulls on your heart strings & you find yourself thinking about your childhood relationships. What I love about this story is the authenticity of the era, the setting & complexity of friendships. Woodson's prose makes you feel the essence of the characters pain as they are coming of age in Brooklyn during the 70's.

This book was better than I anticipated. There was a constant building of suspense as you learned about the characters' lives prior to the crash. The alternating narration gave the story a nice swift pace. I loved the beginning & the end; however the middle became slightly stagnant at times. Overall a quick and easy read.
