pickThis was a fantastic read to follow up a trip to the Philippines for work. I loved the impetus to find out more about the pre-WWII colonial interactions between the US and PI, and the twisty integration of the past into the present through the lens of a modern filmmaker, as well as the way the past is never quite clear really worked for me. Really drives home the issues of how who tells a story determines what truths we learn from it.
Audio cooking today! It‘s my day off work today so, even though it‘s warmer today than it has been recently, I‘m making homemade chili! My husband has been begging me to make it since the first sign of fall was in the air.
I really like this audio book so far but have had a little trouble keeping up with the multiple characters since they aren‘t separated by chapters.

I chose this as an Amazon first pick a few years ago. It interesting to read a story set in the Philippines. I hope there will be more World War 2 books written set in the Pacific Theater.
