Just picked up my very first graphic novel. Thanks Eric for the rec. I've always been biased against graphic novels but this looks beautiful.

BookishFeminist Enjoy your new graphic novel adventure! They're so much fun. 😀 8y
SoniaC @BookishFeminist I had no idea how diverse they were. I think graphic novels and think super hero kind of stuff. I saw one Becoming unbecoming that might be one you'd like. I'm going back for it soon. 8y
BookishFeminist 😱You're right, that sounds right up my alley! Gender discussion plus serial killer on the loose? That's my kinda book. Thanks for the rec—it's immediately going on my list. I used to be the same way about graphic novels but there's so much out there from fiction to memoirs to indie presses with unique characters/storytelling. If you like this I have tons of recs, just let me know! 8y

SoniaC @BookishFeminist I know I'm kicking myself for leaving without it! I'd love Recs. You're taste in books is terrific. 8y
BookishFeminist @SoniaC Let me know how you like this one when you're done & I'll definitely give you some recs! One of my favorite books/graphic novels is Persepolis—it's about memoir of a woman who grew up during the Iranian Revolution & it's heartbreaking but also lots of fun w/great perspective. 8y
SoniaC @BookishFeminist sounds good thanks! 8y
TheCanuckReader I'm gonna watch this thread too as I'd like to broaden to more graphic novels #newgenres 8y
SoniaC @TheCanuckReader very cool! 8y
Theresa I've heard great things about this graphic novel & it's in my Amazon wish list just waiting for me to have a moment of weakness. 😆 And I second the recommendation @BookishFeminist gave for Persepolis!! 8y
SoniaC @Theresa I will be looking into that one. I can't wait to start this one. I'm trying to be good and make myself finish The Turn of The Screw first. 8y
eric.small I'm so excited for you! Let me know what you think of it. I'm also standing by with recommendations when you're ready. Also, I LOVED Persepolis. 8y
SoniaC @eric.small Thanks after so many years of reading it's more exciting than I anticipated to branch out to a new category. The Recs will be much appreciated. 8y
