Death of a Mystery Writer | Robert Barnard
post image
Pickpick

My first Robert Barnard,& it won‘t be my last. The corpulent, despised, tyrannical, insolent Sir Oliver Fairleigh-Stubbs,collapses after a sip of an Apéritif at his birthday dinner. His wife is bewildered, his 3 children relieved, having suffered his nasty sarcasm & control all of their lives.A popular mystery writer, he bequeathed his wife, unpublished book that promises to be a sensation,is missing. Was his demise murder? #serieslove2024 #readyourkindle

Ms. DiRico topped herself and ended this series better than anyone could have imagined.

Something in the Water | Charlotte MacLeod

Well, this was fun! Professor Peter Shandy is down to earth (literally as a botanist 😆) and clever. Set in Maine, Peter is visiting a small town to collect lupine seeds from mysteriously fabulous specimens. While supping at his hotel, the diner at the next table drops face first into the chicken pot pie. Charlotte Macleod has a terrific way with words and a great sense of humor. I will definitely be seeking out more of these!

Librarybelle I think I have a couple of her books but am not sure if they are part of that series. Sound fun!! 2w
mabell @Librarybelle I think have a couple of paperbacks too, but I‘m not sure what they are either. I had to put some in basement storage due to space constraints, so finding them may be an issue 😆 2w
Librarybelle 😂 2w
CaramelLunacy I read a bunch of her Sarah Kelling / Max Bittersohn novels when I was a kid and really liked them. I'll have to see if they're still floating around here somewhere 2w
mabell @CaramelLunacy I‘ll have to try one of those next! 2w

It‘s 50 degrees- some wind, but I am sheltered underneath Starbuck‘s porch. Enjoying a lunch of a ham & and cheese croissant with a latte, feeling the sun and hearing bird song.Oh for spring to really come & stay!!! But I am grateful for today‘s taste of the season. #naturalitsy

Ella has become part of the Behavioral Crimes Unit, having been fascinated by the minds of serial killers early in life when her father was murdered. Current case is in the pacific northwest-bodies are found perched high up in redwood trees…

I discovered Rachael Yamagata with "Be Be My Love" in college. She did a residency at Johnny Brenda's in Philadelphia, and I've been following her since. I've seen her about 10 times live. The linked video stars Allison freakin' Janney! Enjoy!

TieDyeDude The art is an original drawing that Candice Martello (aka Hemming) did before the show and sold at the merch table. My best friend bought it for me. Hemming is very good as well, though she only has one album; she won a VH1 reality show, but became a little jaded with the music business dealing with the recording contract from that show (bonus video: https://youtu.be/pd-H4rfsrn8) 2mo
youneverarrived Ah I love Rachel Yamagata. I went to London for the first time when I was 16 to see her live - my first proper gig. Great memories 😁 2mo
TieDyeDude @youneverarrived Yay! That's cool. That's not exactly a short trip, is it? 2mo
youneverarrived I live in the north of the UK so it wasn‘t too far 🥰 2mo
