pickI enjoy the author‘s descriptions of clothing very much, and I think that the realistic depiction of the time period is detailed enough to be realistic but not so detailed that it‘s gross.
A selfish prince, a conniving queen, princesses under a spell and a sorceress trying to determine who and what she will be, must find their way out of a sorcerer‘s plan.
5/5 read if you like fairy tale retellings and want a twist to a ballet tale
pickIf you're looking for “great literature,“ this isn't the book/series for you. But if you're looking for a quick, fun read with an ending all tied up with a bow on top, look no further. I tend to think of Lacky as my “book candy“: mostly sweet, not a lot of substance, but so enjoyable!
pickThis was a re-read that I started in February. It took me a while because certain scenes are hard to read (definitely trigger warning territory) and I was putting it off. I'd give it four stars out of five with one star docked for the trigger warning material. Overall I enjoyed most of Talia's journey. I look forward to reading the rest of the series!
pickThe second published #valdemar book! This was a re-read for me. Even though I've read it a couple times in the past I could feel myself becoming anxious during certain parts. It's an interesting book that expands on Talia's story from the first book, but I enjoyed the first book more.

pickMore enjoyable than the previous one in the series. This is a Cinderella retelling set during WW1 and did seem to capture the general mood quite well. However, the pacing was a bit uneven.
