Currently reading. This is also a local author, so looking forward to getting a bit more insight of the local politics in my backyard.

Election Day | Marc Tyler Nobleman
post image

Not book related, but after a very short Council meeting, I‘m home watching the election results to see who my new bosses will be. #localPolitics #electionday #vote

Riveted_Reader_Melissa 🤞for you! 4y
alisiakae I'm doing the same thing, but for Mecklenburg County (Charlotte)! 😁We still only have EV results, no precincts reporting. 😩I was out at the polls volunteering for a few of the candidates today. 4y
Lcsmcat @Riveted_Reader_Melissa Thanks. I think I can work with any of the candidates who are running, but of course I have my favorites. 😀 4y

Lcsmcat @4thhouseontheleft How was your turn out? 4y
alisiakae @Lcsmcat Crap. It always is for municipal elections. 4% turnout during early voting. Not sure about overall. 4y
ImperfectCJ Small world... I have an aunt who lives in Holly Springs. (No idea how she voted (or even if she voted), though.) 4y
Lcsmcat @4thhouseontheleft I know! And that‘s where your daily life gets affected the most. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 4y
Lcsmcat @ImperfectCJ Small world indeed! Do you ever come visit her? 4y
ImperfectCJ @Lcsmcat Not for a long time. I used to visit her when I lived in Durham, but we've been away since 2003. 4y
GingerAntics That‘s got to be nerve wracking. Your boss could change every time there‘s a vote. Good luck! 4y
Lcsmcat @GingerAntics It‘s definitely interesting to see the election from the other side as it were. And they never all change at once, so that helps with continuity. 4y
GingerAntics I guess I never thought about it, but that‘s good. It would be weird to go into work tomorrow and find your boss moving out while the new one moved in. 4y
Lcsmcat @GingerAntics We get a little more notice than that. The newly elected will take office at the first meeting in December. 4y
Texreader @GingerAntics That happened when I worked for the court of appeals, but fortunately not my judge. It was weird my co-clerk who was hired by one judge (a Democrat) had to start working for another (Republican). Awkward! 4y
GingerAntics @Texreader oh that is awkward! @Lcsmcat oh that gives a month of transition. That‘s good. Did you get the new boss you wanted?! 4y
