This is an intense and well written short novel. But it‘s not particularly pleasant. A woman fresh from her mother‘s funeral, dealing with her past and the dynamics of her family. Happy New Year everyone. Here‘s to some fab books in 2020 #literaryfiction #lastbookoftheyear 🤗

The last book of 2018. Maybe reading an inspirational book the day before new year wasn't a good idea after all. Now I have a million resolutions and 2019 is already laughing at me. #lastbookoftheyear

This is my #lastbookoftheyear and despite the fact that I normally don't read #poetry I really like this one. Is a mix of a play, some poems and some short stories. Also it has #cats so there is not better way to close the year. Happy New year littens! May the 2018 be even more bookish than 2017!

Mitch Not sure yet @niha923 about half way through- I‘ll let you know ! 6y
lynneamch Last book of the year for me, too! 3/4 of the way through and really enjoying it; life lessons and scrumptious food. This one in a similar vein is also good 6y
Mitch Thanks @lynneamch good recommendation. Just finished The Gentleman, and after spending the first third a bit confused about the reviews it‘s been getting, fell in love with it and couldn‘t have chosen better to end my reading year! Hope you‘ve liked it! 6y
CaroPi I will not say is my favorite book of the year but in my top 10. I like the nostalgic atmosphere of the book and how this slow narration is transformed 6y
