pickOK, this second book was much better than the initial one...much. The villain was super creepy and lots of action to keep up with. Although I have two bones to pick....is Mercy really that irresistible to practically EVERY guy in the book, and why are these covers so overly sexual?! This is NOT how I have her pictured, and I'm embarrassed to leave my book lying around. 😳 #romantsy #osrbc
katelynd Reading this now & I totally have to agree with you on the covers. I thought the same thing!! My books are on my kindle app or audible app, so leaving them around isn't an embarrassing problem for me, but still! ? She's not even a very sexual character, so far anyway. Since I'd guess these are geared mostly towards females, the overtly sexual covers are, what, a misguided attempt at the whole "sex sells" thing? ? 7y
robinb #katelynd I actually felt the need to explain to my 17 & 20 year olds that this book was not a "bad" book! ? And I've read 5 of these now, and other than her coyote tattoo on her belly, there's not much mention of the elaborate ones on the covers. It just seems like often in this genre, when it features a strong female protagonist (also Kate Daniels), "sexualizes" them too much on the covers. ? 7y
