Had a slow start with this one, but I think reading it in the sun today was just the kind of vibe I needed to get really caught up! #halfwaythrough

Well enough learning and using my brain for today. Homework is done for the first week. Time for a laugh while my sick hubby lounges and the kids do their own thing.

Enjoying his writing hugely... but have to put this on hold as my book club read arrived! #multiread #halfwaythrough

I read all the HP books back when they came out and loved them. About 7 years ago I started reading them out loud to my daughter, and eventually my son too. Both are now old enough to read them on their own, but tradition reigns and we are FINALLY reading the last book together, taking turns reading aloud. I forbid watching the movies until the book is read, so we are all excited to finally watch the last 2 movies as well!! #halfwaythrough

Bookgirl On a related note, we thought it would be fun to take a sorting hat quiz. So many to choose from....I took 5 and was placed in every house once, Hufflepuff twice 😂 6y
ramyasbookshelf I've never been lucky with those sorting hat quizzes either! I've tried a few and I always get a different house. Sigh! 6y
JacqMac We have a house rule: you always have to read the book before you can see the movie. Anything to encourage them to read more. 6y

cariashley This is amazing. Reading Harry Potter aloud is one of the most compelling reasons I've found to reproduce one day. 😁 6y
Bookgirl @JacqMac same here although depends on the book. I laid down the law about Harry Potter long before the final movies were even made. Hunger Games also on that list! 6y
Bookgirl @cariashley It has been a wonderful journey to revisit my favorite childhood books with my kids, starting with toddler books that I had forgotten about! Rediscovering them and seeing them through their eyes is one of my fav parts of parenting. And now we can read books together, even more fun! My son in particular likes to hear about books I am reading too, and will frequently ask "so what's happening in your book now?" #parentgoals 6y
