I love the Spanglish, but still need more pronounciation and translation support before reading this out loud. Spanish is my 3rd language, I need more practice.

pickCan you see what mom is making for dinner? The dead mice on the trencher make up for the gender stereotypes in this illustration. I loved the book, don't get me wrong. Owl is clever and adorable.
pickI think my favorite part of this book is the idea that kids have the opportunity to share something with the whole school every week. I'm not sure if boys still get picked on for dancing anymore. I hope not.

In this book that main character Jabari has just passed the swim test and is ready to jump of the diving board. He is so excited because he has waited for this moment, but when it‘s his turn on the diving board he becomes scared. Throughout the book he learns how not to be scared and what cool dive to do off the diving board.
