Wintersong: Christmas Readings | Madeleine L'Engle
post image

Here is an incomplete look at my TBR for #WinterReadathon I say incomplete because I‘m a mood reader with library deadlines. 🤣 With any luck I‘ll be able to get to most of these.

Andrew65 All lists are flexible, I always end up reading books not on my lists and often don‘t get to some that are on it. Our moods change. 47m

Somewhat predictable but sweet story about five people who are mysteriously invited to a story society where they learn to trust, love, grow and the importance of truth and second chances.

BookBabe Gorgeous photo! 😍 I‘m trying to remember if I read this book as an ARC…it seems very familiar🤔 11h

Not even sure how this one ended up in my Kindle library, but it was a decent way to pass the time while outside with my dog. A little conservative for my taste, but a perfectly serviceable cozy mystery.

There are a few movies and TV shows I love based on books (mostly Jane Austen), but this is the first one that popped into my mind! I love how beautiful this movie is, and the music, and how faithful it is to the book. And Tilda Swinton 😍

A Grief Observed | C.S. Lewis

This is Lewis's journal observing his grief for his wife and while everyone's grief is unique to them, there's always stands you can pull out that relate to you and I definitely found strands of my own grief for my sister in these pages.

I'm not here to rate anyone's grief, it's a five star from me.

I read this in anticipation of Jinger Vuolo's book that is coming out in a few months - "Becoming Free Indeed"

This book is written by the parents. I'm anxious to read a book from one of the kids to hear what it was like to actually be raised in that family.

We all know now that not everyone turned out the way the parents hoped.

I will say that I think their hearts are in the right place and this was an interesting read.

Suet624 I wonder about kids from such large families - especially those that hold themselves up as examples of a better life. 6d
