🎆✨ Happy New Year everyone!! ✨🎆 What is NYE without dessert?? I'm not sure how everyone is going to decide which brownie to pick though... 🤔😂 My fudgy brownie recipe with either oreo/cheesecake cream or whipped cream and a fresh strawberry rose. 😍😋 #ambaking #brownie

This F picture book is a great way to bring fun into the classroom. Perhaps it is testing a week or in between lessons this RA would be great to share with students. Teachers could even bring brownies and icecream to class to enjoy after reading the book. The silly adventures that could arise if you give a mouse a brownie will have the students laughing and engaged. #ucflae3414f19

YesseniaN An activity/lesson that teachers can do is a sequencing chart. This activity can be completed after reading to the class and going over the parts of the book as a whole. To find charts already completed you can use this website or create your own with construction paper. https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Browse/Search:if%20you%20give%20a%20mouse%20...
UDL principle Provide multiple means of Representation.

YesseniaN An ESOL strategy would be to go over the sequence of the book with the class, interactively, perhaps drawing out the first two steps on the whiteboard and working in groups to complete the rest of the activity. 5y
Erinehart I remember growing up reading this book! Great for the younger crowd. 5y

DrSpalding These circle stories were meant to be read aloud! They are fantasy and yet you can make text to self connections as well. 4y

If You Give A Mouse A Brownie is a modern fantasy (F) written by Laura Numeroff and Illustrated by Felicia Bond. This picture book is about the demands a tiny mouse will make once you give him a brownie. This book makes a great storytelling (s) activity!

GroeningsC UDL principal 5.2 by building your own way of telling the story. EL strategy 6 by monitoring the students building their storytelling, ensuring they comprehend the story.

If You Give a Mouse a Brownie by Laura Numeroff would be a great book for an AS. The series has become a #1 New York Times Bestseller. The MF book is part of a series that uses a mouse to constantly ask requests from a young boy. Each book has the same storyline, but with a different animal. It would be great book to teach sequence of events and complete an in depth author study to compare what happens in each book. #UCFLAE3414SU19

Kendylleonard I would use UDL 3.2 to highlight patterns that have taken place throughout the books we have read within the series. ESOL strategy #45 would also align. I would use a Venn Diagram to help support EL‘s when comparing and contrasting what takes place in each of the books. (edited) 5y
Kendylleonard https://www.mousecookiebooks.com/activities/give-series-teaching-guide/ The resource I found uses an interactive website to give a list of all of the books in the series. It also offers activities and facts they can learn about the author. It is a fun way to get the students involved in the series! 5y
MeaganM @Kendylleonard I love your idea of a Venn Diagram! That‘s a great idea. My children ages 7,7 and 4, love this entire series. They are such cute books for younger children. (edited) 5y
Kendylleonard @MeaganM I‘ve loved these books since I was a kid! They‘re great! 5y
DrSpalding Comparing and contrasting and highlighting patterns… Perfect! You now know that many beloved books have their own websites to help teachers use them in the classroom. Excellent resource. Use it! 5y

This book is about what would happen if you gave a mouse a brownie. One thing leads to the next which leads them on a lot of fun adventures. In the end it will all be back to the brownie and ice cream again.
