Jack-Cade "The world is what it is; men who are nothing, who allow themselves to become nothing,have no place in it." That's a pretty chilling quote right out of the gates if memory serves me right. I believe this is one of Naipaul's finest novels and enjoyed it immensely. One would be highly remiss to wander through life without appreciating the mastery of Naipaul's literary gifts. 6y
