Pickpick

After scouring lists for great audiobooks, I settled on The Alice Network. I received this from a Litten awhile back but decided to snag the #audiobook because it had such great reviews. This was such a great effing book and the narrator deserves all the praise she gets - she is phenomenal! She glides seemlessly in and out of the various accents and characters and does it so well. This was hard reading at times because it‘s so bleak in parts, ⬇️

JenlovesJT47 But I listened to it slowly over the last 2 weeks so I wouldn‘t miss anything. I kept my book handy so I could double-check on the spellings of names and places (drives me crazy if I don‘t know how to spell something!). The dual storylines of Eve and Charlie were great and I loved the little ragtag family they made together with Finn on their quest to find one of the most evil book characters I‘ve come across in awhile, that douchebag René. ⬇️ 3y
JenlovesJT47 I would highly recommend this to lovers of historical fiction. Coming from someone who reads a lot of WWII fiction, it‘s just as important to learn more about the stories of brave people in WWI. The real women of The Alice Network are largely forgotten today and it‘s important that their stories be told and remembered. 5⭐️ Highly recommended! 3y

Not overly political but it was set in Chicago and mentions the economic disparities that are particularly harsh in the South Side. I found the story creative and engaging. Quinto DOES sound Spock-like but overall he did excellent at narrating all parts with subtle distinctions. #politicalfiction #PhotoaDayNov16 #audiobookrec
