AshleyHoss820 @batsy Honestly, yes! I found him much more palatable in short story form! He has a writing style that is…WORDY, to put it mildly. 😂 (Joseph Conrad and William Faulkner are similar) I hated The Scarlet Letter, but I was more prepared for his style when I read The House of the Seven Gables. I ended up really enjoying that one. ☺️ (edited) 13mo

On our drive home from the casino, my husband (the English instructor) was shocked that I had never read this story. So, we found it on Libby and #AudioCommute listened to it. I really enjoyed this. It was a nice mix of creepy and suspenseful. Also having moved to New England in the past year, I am glad to read/listen to local authors :)
