Mehso-so

I have no strong feelings about this book one way or the other. It was just okay. I did love all of the literary references. The movie comes recommended by @loveroflit, so that is up next.

megnews Haven‘t read the book but the movie was good and accurate to my experiences with a loved one with bipolar. 6y
howlinglibraries Like @megnews, I haven‘t read the book but have family members with bipolar and the representation felt fair to me, and I thought the movie overall was worth seeing! 6y
sammisho @megnews I don't remember them ever specifying a diagnosis in the book. I kept waiting for them to say it. Was it bipolar? I am a social worker and many of his behaviors reminded me of clients with Traumatic Brain Injuries. 6y

megnews I‘m 99% sure they did. Or I inferred based on my experiences. I‘m going to have to see if it‘s still on Netflix and rewatch. 6y
KellyHunsakerReads This is one where I liked the movie better than the book! 6y
KellyHunsakerReads In the movie it is BiPolar. I don‘t remember if the book specified. 6y
sammisho @Hunsakermountain I will definitely be checking out the movie. I feel like I would have remembered if they specified in the book, especially given my background and I was watching for it! 6y
LoverofLit This is on my TBR but I loved the movie so much. Let me know what you think when you watch it. All the love for BCoop and JLaw! ❤❤❤ 6y
sammisho @LoverofLit I love those two also! I kind of wished I just watched the movie and skipped the book, which is blasphemy, I know. 6y

Pickpick

This was such a good listen! Equal parts sad and frustrating, but also uplifting and informational. Enough science thrown in to be educational without getting bogged down in medical terms or losing you. Her story and the subsequent medical journals following her illness have been so important to the medical community and saved lives. Highly recommend!
