Crazeedi My choices would be not like anyone else's I know that 😉 5y
Andrew65 @Crazeedi Might be same for all of us. I‘d struggle to just pick 3! 5y

Ruthiella Becky Chambers. Martha Wells. Ann Leckie. 😀 5y
Andrew65 @Ruthiella Some great choices. 👍 5y
Lauredhel Such a huge field, but it's pretty hard to leave out NK Jemisin at this point in time! Nnedi Okorafor, Charlie Jane Anders, and what @Ruthiella said :) 5y
Andrew65 NK Jemisin is one I need to get to. 5y
Melissa_J Just for SciFi and Fantasy? I‘d go with Robin Hobb, Connie Willlis and Sarah J Maas. Overall, Robin Hobb still makes the list, but I‘d add Sharon Kay Penman and Elizabeth Chadwick. 5y
vivastory If we're talking just about sci-fi and fantasy, top 3 are Jemisin, LeGuin & Hobb 5y
vivastory Top 3 of all genres would be impossible 5y
lahousewyfe NK Jemisin and Anne McCaffrey, for sure. I also love L'Engle and Diane Duane. And now I have everyone else's lists. Here goes the TBR! 5y
rwmg The best 3 female SF writers I've read in the past decade or so are: Ursula K Le Guin, Mary Doria Russell, and Becky Chambers 5y
SW-T Tough choices but Kay Kenyon, Connie Willis, and Martha Wells. Plus, I feel like Butler, L‘Engle, and McCaffrey are awesome enough that people find them on their own since they exist in a special dimension of awesomeness. 5y
Scochrane26 I don‘t read much sci-fi, but I like Olivia A Cole. 5y
