Trying to find a good name for the novel I'm writing, and hoping the Litten community can help me find inspiration. What titles stood out for you, made you want to pick up a book, whether it ended up being good or not?

Kappadeemom Please don‘t put “Girl” in the title 😂😂 6y
rachelm No suggestions just commiseration. Titles are rough! 6y
tracy.m.ng I feel like the title should connect to the book somewhat, and be brief on your title! 6y

RaimeyGallant @tracy.m.ng Me too:) 6y
Leah I‘m a total sucker for titles taken from poems or quotes. For whatever reason, they have a certain gravity or weight that sticks with me. All of Alan Bradley‘s Flavia de Luce books have titles like this (Thrice The Brinded Cat Hath Mewed, for instance). So, my recommendation for inspiration would be to click around on some poetry or quote sites, or leaf through a poetry anthology. 6y
Kaylamburson I definitely prefer concise titles (1-4 words). Agree with @tracy.m.ng!! 6y
mrozzz Wow what a great question. Need to think on this. 6y
mrozzz Oh but a little thing as a reader: I look out for mention of the title throughout and like to find it towards the ends during the climax 6y
Natasha.C.Barnes @Kappadeemom ?? Also don't do "The ____'s Daughter" 6y
Natasha.C.Barnes I tend to like short somewhat ambiguous titles bc they make me want to know what the book is about. Next time I go to the library I'll scan the stacks for titles that jump out. 6y
thebacklistbook It has to mean something integral to the plotline, yet it is unclear how until the end of the book or even the series. 6y
bookandcat I never thought about how many books have "girl" in the title when they are talking about a woman (with dragon tattoo, gone, on a train, etc) ??? yeah don't do that lol. I'm a fan of shorter titles but this tends to be genre specific (E.g. romances can be super long titlewise) 6y
Velvetfur I like titles that makes me think, "what exactly does that mean?" and make me want to find out what it means by reading the book, for example ' The Unbearable Lightness Of Being" ? 6y
