I'm having trouble deciding how I want to move forward with the #SABC regarding where to host and how to format discussions.
I would love to hear what you guys think, even if you haven't joined. (Maybe some changes could get you involved?) If you have time, please take this short survey and help me out!

Clare-Dragonfly I filled out the survey—I probably would participate if it were on Litsy! 2mo
laurenslibrary @Clare-Dragonfly Thank you! I think that is the route I'm going to go 😁 2mo

Wow. This was eye opening. It should be required reading. The affordable housing crisis is a serious problem. I read this for the now defunct #SocialAwarenessBookClub, and I am so glad that is did.

And Evicted has become the first (and hopefully only) casualty of the #holdalanche. I had four holds come in within two days of each other and I officially can‘t keep up. I was looking forward to reading Evicted, but since (unlike the other three) it has a short wait list and I‘m not sure if the #SABC group I was reading it for is even a thing anymore, I‘ve decided to return it for now and check it out again another time.

Riveted_Reader_Melissa It‘s a good book, but yes, we‘ve all been there...there‘s the will, but just no physical way. 4mo
Riveted_Reader_Melissa What‘s the SABC by the way? 4mo
shadowspeak17 @Riveted_Reader_Melissa I‘m glad to hear it‘s good. 😊 I‘m looking forward to reading it after I get through all these other holds. The SABC is the social awareness book club. The idea started here on Litsy and moved over to Goodreads, but the group appears to be gone now. 🤷🏽‍♀️ 4mo
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @shadowspeak17 well if it picks back, I‘m interested. Sounds very good. 4mo

Squeezing in one more before the end of the month. This was riveting! I had never heard about the Osage ‘Reign of Terror‘ until this book. Grann does a great job of building a story and making history come alive. This is a story of greed and prejudice and hubris in a veritable Wild West. There is also some background of the development of the FBI into a more professional organization, but, to my mind, not enough to warrant the subtitle. 4⭐️ #SABC

Wow. Just wow. This book was well written, well researched, and absolutely horrifying.

This book is really well written and easy to read in that way but the content inside makes it a hard read.
It‘s the sort of history that everyone should know but don‘t and will make your heart sink.
I don‘t think I would have picked this up on my own so I‘m really glad for #sabc putting this on my radar.
I‘m kinda just lost for words after this.

dariazeoli I just finished and I agree with you! 4mo

This book was heartbreaking and infuriating. How white people could view the Osage as if they weren‘t even human makes me livid. And how recently it all occurred. #SABC #16of65
