Wow. This was eye opening. It should be required reading. The affordable housing crisis is a serious problem. I read this for the now defunct #SocialAwarenessBookClub, and I am so glad that is did.

And Evicted has become the first (and hopefully only) casualty of the #holdalanche. I had four holds come in within two days of each other and I officially can‘t keep up. I was looking forward to reading Evicted, but since (unlike the other three) it has a short wait list and I‘m not sure if the #SABC group I was reading it for is even a thing anymore, I‘ve decided to return it for now and check it out again another time.

Squeezing in one more before the end of the month. This was riveting! I had never heard about the Osage ‘Reign of Terror‘ until this book. Grann does a great job of building a story and making history come alive. This is a story of greed and prejudice and hubris in a veritable Wild West. There is also some background of the development of the FBI into a more professional organization, but, to my mind, not enough to warrant the subtitle. 4⭐️ #SABC

This book is really well written and easy to read in that way but the content inside makes it a hard read.
It‘s the sort of history that everyone should know but don‘t and will make your heart sink.
I don‘t think I would have picked this up on my own so I‘m really glad for #sabc putting this on my radar.
I‘m kinda just lost for words after this.
