The Beak of the Finch: A Story of Evolution in Our Time | Jonathan Weiner

All over the place. Medical insurance headaches that are already negatively impacting my kids. Over an hour trying to figure out that my daughter can‘t go to her scheduled appointment with the specialist tomorrow. I have been fighting insurance companies since my oldest was born over 28 years ago. I‘m so tired.

On the good side, my youngest son enjoyed the summer reading kickoff and I won for best speaker at Toastmasters.

Not too good. My grandma passed away about a month ago, my grandpa has pneumonia and in hospital and my dad has cancer. I am under a lot of stress. I have had a number of outbursts as a result.

CatLass007 My heart is a little apprehensive today because I have to take Molly ❤️🙀 to have some blood drawn for labs. They asked me to sedate her so that makes me even more apprehensive because I have to sneak up on her to squirt the stuff in her mouth. So she‘s my focus for today. 5d

So it was a waste of time, energy, and stress to Molly‘s nervous system. They drew the blood but they‘ll just have to toss it. 4d

CatLass007 @Kerrbearlib @dabbe @AnnCrystal @CBee Molly is dealing with it better than I am. I‘m infuriated and incensed on her behalf. She‘s 16, nearly 17, so I‘m not sure if this stress is going to have any long term impact on her health. She‘s lost weight but her overall behavior has been her usual active senior self. She‘s having no trouble grooming, she still likes to jump to the highest spot in a room, she still has the occasional zoomies. The (cont)⬇️ 4d

CatLass007 last day she‘s been a bit sluggish because she was not cooperative the first time she was there so they sent me home with a sedative and I had to take her back on a different day. She sends many purrs and snuggles to all of you for showing such concern. ❤️ ❤️❤️ (edited) 4d

1. Groggy, just waking up. It takes a little awake time for my head to clear.
2. I'm going to a presentation on pressure canning beans today. Ridiculously looking forward to it. 😀
I just finished The Midnight Library. It was a slow start for me but once I realized it was all about your mental health it became quite powerful to me. I am going to buy a used copy to highlight the heck out of it.
